Sadly, Dina Kantor’s “Photographing Communities” class at School of Visual Arts was canceled due to low enrollment.

Here’s what’s on deck for my summer instead.

Photographing the Familiar: Personal Space and Vision

“The home is an entry to memories, dreams and desires; it is both a fictional and a lived reality. This course will focus on domestic space and family photographs. Students will start a visual journal using snapshots of their past and present, and investigate the spaces and people that are relevant in their daily lives. By looking at a personal view of their intimate surroundings and relationships, students will uncover new aspects of their creative practice. All digital and film formats are welcome.”

A visual journal? Let’s do this.
