Ask any therapist, the average mother daughter relationship is complicated.

But what happens when your mother is Joan Rivers … and she’s just moved into the home you share with your live-in boyfriend, 10-year-old son, assistant and nanny? Things go from complicated to hilarious in an instant.

Joan has made a career of poking fun at everything (and one) that crosses her path and when the comedienne shares the screen with daughter, Melissa, on ‘Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best,’ it’s business as usual.

“I think we’re the first show that’s really shown [a real] mother daughter relationship. I think it’s come out very well because of that,” Joan says of the reality show.

“You see what’s about to happen and you go ‘Oh God no!’ because you’ve lived it,” Melissa adds.
