Platon’s “Exiled”
In May, Human Rights Watch sent the photographer Platon to Thailand, where he made portraits of Burmese refugees living there. The portraits compose his portfolio “Exiled,” now available as a slide show on newyorker.com. Human Rights Watch produced the twelve videos accompanying his portraits, in which the refugees tell their stories.
The above photograph depicts journalists from the Democratic Voice of Burma, a satellite radio-and-television service that broadcasts news into the country. Click here to hear their story.
