After a season impersonating Hoda Kotb, Lady Gaga and Kristen Stewart on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ America is well aware that Jenny Slate is funny. But what people don’t realize is just how funny she actually is.

A lot has happened since Slate notoriously dropped the f-bomb on her ‘Saturday Night Live’ debut last fall. She landed a role playing opposite Jason Schwartzman on HBO’s Brooklyn-based comedy, ‘Bored to Death,’ and has starred in (and lent her voice to) a series of viral videos like ‘Bestie x Bestie’ and ‘Marcel the Shell With Shoes On.’

With the recent announcement that she won’t be returning to the cast of ‘Saturday Night Live’ this fall, Slate reflected on the past year, “I think it was a big growing year for me and I also like, you know, grew some big balls…which I like,” she laughed.

Over coffee at Building on Bond in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, Slate spoke with PopEater about shenanigans on the set of ‘Bored’ while impressing us with her collection of side splitting voices and even told a Dad-approved joke!
